For small contracts (under 50 hard drives) the service is available anywhere within a 50 mile radius of Cambridge. For larger contracts (over 50 drives) we will travel up to 100 miles from Cambridge. For contracts over 100 drives we will travel to most parts of England and nearer bits of Scotland and Wales. The shredder can be powered by our onboard diesel generator, however, its far better for all concerned and the environment, to use the mains electrical supply (standard 13amp socket linked to our van) from the customer's premises. Obviously this is not always practical. Please advise before hand if this is possible. We also need safe, legal parking next to the premises where the drives are stored. The last requirement tends to rule out city centre locations that do not have private parking for us to use.
The customer hands us the hard drives they want destroyed. We log each drive's serial number. Then, using our high powered destruction machine, we shred each drive into little pieces. The customer can witness the process from start to finish
When considering hiring us on a daily basis you will need to consider which level of service is most suitable for your needs:-
DELIVER YOUR HARD DRIVES TO US
FOR SHREDDING AT OUR PREMISES -
just telephone us to get a quote and arrange an appointment.
Please Note: Our
machinery is set up for shredding Hard Drives and Digital Cartridge
Tapes. It is not suitable for shredding paper, floppy discs,
optical discs (CDs) or the old 10.5" reeled tapes.
INCINERATION OF DIGITAL TAPES
Shredded data tape waste is difficult to recycle and as a consequence
it is sent to land fill. However, for some this is not a satisfactory
outcome. For an extra fee we can arrange for the waste to be
incinerated.
INCINERATION OF MICROFICHE FILM
Unless the shred size is very small, shredded microfiche film is still
very easily readable. Such waste usually ends up in landfill which
isn't a good idea. We do not shred microfiche film but we can arrange
for shredding on site. More importantly we can arrange to have your
microfiche film
incinerated. To be doubly sure, the film can be shredded on site
and
then incinerated in an approved incineration facility.
IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING THE ENVIRONMENT AGENCY
The above form "Notification of an Exemption Activity" lists a multitude of exemptions (paragraphs) - For the activity of shredding you should list paragraph 27 in the appropriate box
Many business will need to register even if they do not want us to destroy their hard drives.
