WE ARRIVE AT YOUR PREMISES WITH OUR MOBILE DESTRUCTION UNIT

For small contracts (under 50 hard drives) the service is available anywhere within a 50 mile radius of Cambridge.  For larger contracts (over 50 drives) we will travel up to 100 miles from Cambridge. For contracts over 100 drives we will travel to most parts of England and nearer bits of Scotland and Wales. The shredder can be powered by our onboard diesel generator, however, its far better for all concerned and the environment, to use the mains electrical supply (standard 13amp socket linked to our van ) from the customer's premises. Obviously this is not always practical. Please advise before hand if this is possible. We also need safe, legal parking next to the premises where the drives are stored. The last requirement tends to rule out city centre locations that do not have private parking for us to use.

We collect your hard drives and log each drive's serial number. Then, using our high powered destruction machine, we destroy your hard drives by shredding each drive into little pieces.

    • First 10 hard drives  = £10.00 + VAT per hard drive (minimum charge £100+VAT)
    • 11th hard drive and over =  £7.00 + VAT per hard drive
    • DLT (or similar) data cartridge tape = £2.50 + VAT per cartridge.

DAILY RATE HIRE
If your organisation has over 100 standard 3.5" hard drives to shred or over 300 DLT  data cartridge tapes to shred,  it would be much more cost effective to hire us on a daily rate basis. For a quote please contact us with details of what you require together with your location and we will reply with a price.

When considering hiring us on a daily basis you will need to consider which level of service is most suitable for your needs:-

  • Level One is for customers who wish to shred their hard drives into small pieces. This is a slow methodical service designed to satisfy those customers with high security requirements. This service has a daily out put of approximately 200 standard hard drives (or 500 DLT Tapes)
  • Level Two is for customers who are satisfied with a hard drive being cut into at least two halves which will clearly render the drive totally inoperable. This is a quick process with a daily out put of approximately 1000 hard drives.
     
If you wish, we can transport the destroyed "chaff"  to a licensed waste facility where the pieces are ground up even further and separated into their constituent elements. The metals are then sent to a metal refinery for melting into ingots.

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING THE ENVIRONMENT AGENCY  
If you wish us to visit to your premises and destroy your hard drives (on your behalf), you will need to register with the Environment Agency. It is free to register. You simply need to complete (and email  or post to the agency) one of their forms (see link below) :-

The above form "Notification of an Exemption Activity" lists a multitude of  exemptions (paragraphs) - For the activity of shredding you should list paragraph 27 in the appropriate box

Many  business will need to register even if they do not want us to destroy their hard drives.
